Rowing in the Olympics

Rowing
The hooter goes me and my partner start to row. I start to think about how I need to win this race for New Zealand. But the French boat snaps me out of my thinking with their grunts of pain. I start to focus in I start to row my hardest, I can feel the adrenaline going through my blood. Then the pain starts to kick in my muscles start to ach. But then I remember our tactic is to take it easy for the first bit and then we push it. The French are in front and  I look to the side only a quarter of the way. Then Poland drop down to third they must be tired. Their faces are all red and their arms are dropping down  The French start to get away from us they're going to get tired soon, then we will make our move I think to myself. But it doesn't look like the French are getting tired and we are nearly at halfway.

At halfway the French look like they're tired because I can nearly see half of their boat. Then we make our move we start to push. Now my muscles are definitely aching we start to get away from the French thats brilliant. But we want the world record we need to keep pushing. “Aaaargh,” I hear the french teaming grunting they must be in pain but I need to keep my head in the game I think to myself. I'm starting to relax too much the french will catch up and that's not good. I push a bit harder I think me and eric are going to smash this race but we want the world record. Lets keep this going don't loose keep our three year winning streak going.

I look to my side three quarters of the way done and dusted. Now we push it awfully hard lets become the world record holders. “We better put all of our energy into the race now,” Eric says to me tiredly. “Ok,” I replied I had been waiting for this part of the race. I keep rowing but then I see hungry dropping away. I feel so sorry for hungry at least they haven't given up. Now lets keep going and win.

I predict that there is about 250m to go we are nearly there and we are so so tired. So close to the finish. As we hear the crowd chair we cross the finish hooray. The commentator says “The kiwis have broken the world record by 6 seconds”. “Yes we did it,” I say excitedly. But then I realize that was only the heat,so that means more pain for me.

The end
